Review by William Hageman
Kelly Sullivan Walden, a certified clinical hypnotherapist, spiritual counselor and dream coach (dream coach?), says she wants to help her readers "become fluent in the language of your dreams." She explains how to classify dreams and provides meanings for symbols we encounter in our dreams--nearly 3,000 of them. Even if you don't believe in dream interpretation, it's a fun book.
1. Dreams of a lemon symbolize beauty and bounty. And lemonade? Optimism.
2. Bacon? It signifies abundance (as in "bringing home the bacon").
3. Believe it or not, people do dream about the Dalai Lama; that symbolizes forgiveness, compassion and enlightenment.
4. A ladder can have several meanings. If you're climbing it, it represents advancing in your life (a ladder of success sort of thing). If you're coming down a ladder, you're coming down in life (feeling discouraged or demoted, perhaps).
5. And here's one you don't have to be an expert to figure out: Dreaming about zucchini represents a healthy sexual appetite.

I am a very vivid dreamer and at times I have often wondered upon
waking exactly what it was that I had just experienced. I wanted to
know what the dreams meant and why I would have a particular dream.
This awesome book gives me the chance to find out. I found the
definitions to be widely varied and easily understandable. Ms. Sullivan
Walden has provided readers with an excellent tool that will assist
many other readers in comprehending at least a small part of the
mysterious world of dreams. Anyone looking for a way to understand even
a small part of what happens to them during a time when the body is at
rest should run out and purchase this sensational book as soon as
possible.

I had a really impactful dream the other night that required much reflection and reading within the pages of wisdom within "I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM". The examples within the book of people's dreams and their interpretations are not only profound, but helpful. It is in the simplicity that the profound is revealed and Kelly Sullivan Walden allows it to be a casual conversation which is the true art of communicating the complex.
Thank you for writing a truly engaging book that tickles me with feather-like beauty and quill depth instead of poking me with a sharp pointed talking stick.

“Carl Jung said every night we go to sleep, we commune with the ancestors in dreams. By this he meant we all dream as we have always dreamt. We use the same verbs and add nouns updated to our place and time. Well, the twentieth century unfolded stranger than the good doctor Jung ever imagined and just on the heels of our new century and millennium comes I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM...The Dreamer's Dictionary for the 21st Century. Kelly has compiled over 3,000 classic and contemporary symbols - a great many Jung and the ancestors never dreamt of. The symbology of botox? Speed dating? iPods? They're in there. This work must be the most comprehensive to date on what we dream and what it means. As one who lives the strangest dream, I wholeheartedly recommend I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM - a huge work and a great one, indispensable for anyone following the Socratic dictum that an unexamined life isn't worth living.”
C.P.G. Johnson, Producer Enlightened Entertainment
“Kelly Sullivan Walden is all about empowerment, and so is her book, I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM. I have had some strange dreams in my life; and to have Kelly pull together information from so many sources to aid in the interpretation of them is truly a gift. Kelly has an ability to inform, and yet present that information so that it becomes a tool for self-discovery, for inner growth----and that’s exactly what she does in I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM.”
